“Chuck Sullivan, Poet” by Robert O. Adair

He leans before us,

sensitive, alert, alive,

belying a rather somnabulant

promotional photo,

an Irish, leprechaun grin,

full of energy,

and blarney humor.

His eyes like John Milton’s

perfectly suited

for seeing visions and dreams

within the misty mountains

of the Carolinas.

He weaves past with present,

image with ideal

reminding us

that poetry and teaching

are acts of love!
